Please, Enough Mickey Mantle


Please Topps, enough with the Mickey Mantle. It doesn't even make sense to have ONE* historical player built into every set you put out.**

*Variations don't count.

* I know Mantle is not in every set Topps puts out, but when you pull a dozen Mantles a year, if sure feels like it.

Mantle was good. Very, very good. But really, enough is enough. It does a disservice to him and his legacy, and all his contemporaries. He is not a common card, he is a Hall of Famer. Make him a variation. Make MEAN something when you pull a Mantle.

    I still like pulling the Mantles, but I can't stand variants, sp's, and inserts. If its a card worth making, put it in the set.
